As for books to get started, if you're new to technical analysis and trading then I would recommend Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John Murphy.
For trading mindset and psychology, then Edwin Lefevre's Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is a must read.
To see how various elements of a trading system come together, then How to Make Money in Stocks by William J. O'Neil is where I'd start.
